1950 Mercury Lead Sled
This beautiful 50 Mercury Hemi Powered Lead Sled features a show quality deep Pearlescent black custom paint job. The color is magnificent with deep clear over the heavily metallic pearlescent black deep finish. To complete the custom look hand painted pinstriping was added. The body features color- matched fender skirts and pop-out quarter windows. The engine Bay was designed and features a complete hand fabricated engine bay that is outstanding. The car shows very well and is an award winner.
The Interior features a complete custom stitched classic interior. The Vintage A/C system features hidden controls in the glove box,
custom Dakota Gauges, Tilt Steering column, and an Alpine AM/FM/CD/SiriusXM stereo system.
This beautiful 1950 Lead Sled underwent a complete mechanical rebuild by Florida Rod Shop Inc. that included the complete removal of air suspension and replaced with new a coil-over suspension system featuring a Fat Man Fabrications front suspension assembly with proper geometry for a nice smooth ride and desired stance.
The brake system was replaced with a Willwood disc brakes system that included new power brake booster, master cylinder and brakes lines. The electrical system was completely reviewed, and all wiring issues were addressed for safe reliable operation.
The 394 period correct Hemi Engine was reported as rebuilt, Florida Rod Shop verified that it was a proper rebuild and completely gone through testing compression , valve train, and main bearings and seals. The engine is 100% verified and performs very well. The engine features a Holley sniper EFI system that was tuned by our technicians. The Hemi V8 engine backed by a 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission that was tested and performs to new specifications.
